At the age of 15, Bill Gothard observed many of his classmates making unwise decisions. Realizing they would have to live with the consequences of these decisions, he was motivated to dedicate his life to helping young people make wise choices. Find Out More >>

The Institute in Basic Life Principles was established for the purpose of introducing people to the Lord Jesus Christ, and is dedicated to giving clear instruction and training on how to find success by following God’s principles found in Scripture. Find Out More >>

Bill Gothard—Founder

After 15 years of working with inner-city gangs, church youth groups, high school clubs, youth camps, and families in crisis, Bill wrote his master’s thesis at Wheaton Graduate School on a youth program that eventually led to seven Biblical, non-optional principles of life. Find Out More >>
